Cherbourg rugby league star Chris Sandow has been told to “pack his bags” by the Parramatta Eels, according to a report in a Sydney newspaper.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported on Thursday night that the popular halfback had suffered a major falling out with coach Brad Arthur after comments from Sandow were published in another Sydney newspaper.

According to the SMH,  Parramatta “powerbrokers” have told Sandow he is free to leave before the June 30 transfer window expires however other tipsters expect Sandow to stay with the Eels until the end of this season because of salary cap considerations.

Sandow made his 1st Grade debut for South Sydney in 2008, and stayed at the Rabbitohs until a contract reportedly worth between $1.6 and $2.2 million lured him to the Eels in 2012.

One of Sandow’s Rabbitohs’ jerseys is mounted on the wall in the sports section of Cherbourg’s Ration Shed museum.
