The quality of Kingaroy’s water could take a dip next week.
Sunwater has notified the South Burnett Regional Council that the Boondooma-Tarong Pipeline – part of the system that currently supplies Boondooma Dam water to Kingaroy- will be temporarily closed.
As a result, Council will be changing its raw water source for the Kingaroy town water supply from Boondooma Dam back to Gordonbrook Dam from Monday, June 15 to Sunday, June 21.
A Council spokesman said this may result in changes to the water quality, primarily the taste and odour, however the water will continue to be safe for human consumption.
Council has asked Kingaroy residents to make sure they adhere to the Level 2 water restrictions currently in place (see below) to help with maintaining the quality of the treated water.
