Historian Dr Judith Grimes will be visiting Kingaroy Library later this month to chat to local residents about her latest book.
“Squatters in the South Burnett: Their Life and Times” was released last month at a function at Ringsfield House in Nanango.
Dr Grimes is well-known at Kingaroy Library, where she holds monthly workshops about online family history research.
Her visit at 10:00am on June 24 will be an opportunity for local residents to learn more about her latest book, which details the story of pioneers James John Malcolm Borthwick and William Elliot Oliver who established Nanango and Tarong stations.
Dr Grimes said the book covers the period from 1841 to 1862 and focuses on the daily lives and challenges of these Scottish adventurers and their associates, who were the first to establish European settlement in the area now known as the South Burnett.
