Here’s the weekly fishing report for Boondooma and Bjelke-Petersen dams for the week ending Monday, June 8:

* * *

Boondooma Dam

  • Dam Level = 70 per cent

Plenty of Bass Pros on the dam this week pre-fishing and the bass came out in good numbers.

Jigging blades worked the best for the Bass but fishermen who could find live bait caught the Goldens.

Redclaw are still in reasonable numbers but may slow down with these cold nights.

Bjelke-Petersen Dam – Yallakool

  • Dam Level = 51 per cent

The cold snap came mid-week with -3 degrees on Wednesday. This changed the fishing tactics for the rest of the week.

Live bait was the key to catching good numbers of Yellowbelly.

Bass were a little harder to find but anglers who worked the banks around Bass Point with blades or plastics were rewarded for their hard work.

Redclaw numbers are still patchy.
