The South Burnett Regional Council has begun a series of hazard reduction burns across the region.
The operations, which are carried out by qualified and experienced operators, began in May and will continue until August.
A Council spokesman said the prescribed burns in Council Reserves also played an important role in biodiversity conservation.
Locations for the burns include:
- Booie Reserve
- Gordonbrook Dam
- Coomba Falls
- Maidenwell Reserve
- Malar Reserve
- Mt Stanley Road Reserve
- Nanango Fauna Reserve
- Proston East Reserve
- Staines Road Reserve, Benarkin
- Wondai East & Showground
- Wondai West Reserve
- Boondooma Dam
