The South Burnett Peace Of Mind Association is planning to hold a “We Care Family Fun Day” in Memorial Park, Kingaroy, on Saturday, May 30.

Organiser Rhonda Trivett said the day would kick off at 10:00am with an official opening by South Burnett mayor Wayne Kratzmann.

There will be a jumping castle and games for the kids from Rosies Fun 4 All in Nanango, as well as face-painting by Natasha Jimenez, and a lucky dip.

Karate 4 Kids – children from Blackbutt, Nanango and Kingaroy – will put on a demonstration at 11:00am (and there is a good chance their mascot, Kung Fu Panda, will drop by).

There will be live entertainment by the Free Spirits Band from 10:00am t0 lunchtime, with Conway’s Country Rock’n’Roll Band taking over from noon to 4:00pm.

The Kingaroy Baptist Church will be running a $2 sausage sizzle, and tea and coffee will be available all day for a gold coin donation.

South Burnett Peace Of Mind, which runs a regular drop-in centre at the Lutheran Church Hall in Youngman Street, will be selling soft drinks for $2.

There will also be arts and crafts stalls, home-made jams, plants and other market-type stalls.

Rhonda said planning was also taking place for a mini table tennis competition and a tug-0-war at 1:00pm.

She said businesses were welcome to come along to join in the fun in the park and sell their wares  and donate a percentage to South Burnett Peace Of Mind Inc.

FOOTNOTE: South Burnett Peace Of Mind Association is also busily planning its second annual White Dove Ball. This is scheduled to be held at the Kingaroy Town Hall on October 23.
