Tickets have now gone on sale for the always-popular Kumbia Antiques Roadshow.
This is the third time the roadshow, presented by the Kumbia Progress Association, has come to town.
It will be held on Saturday and Sunday July 25-26 in the Kumbia Memorial Hall.
“Our Roadshow grows in popularity each year,” spokesperson Stephanie Stevens said.
“Last year’s weekend format worked well in giving the valuer more time to discuss each guest’s treasures. As usual, we were all astonished by the huge array of articles brought in for appraisal.
“Our valuer from Victoria, Ray Dalton, admits to looking forward to his journey north each year, and he and his wife enjoy the hospitality extended to them by the Kumbia community.
“Ray has an engaging personality and a quirky sense of humour and has himself become a feature of the weekend.
“His knowledge seems boundless and guests always leave the Kumbia Antiques Roadshow not only having learned more about antiques but also picking up a few tips on how to spot a bargain.”
Each person is allowed to bring two small items for valuation (no furniture).
A written valuation will be given, and lunch and afternoon tea will be served during the day.
Everyone is seated and will be called up in turn for their items to be appraised.
“Not only do you learn more about your pieces, but you will see and learn about all the other treasures brought in,” Stephanie said.
“If there is some family history or a story attached to your items, this always adds extra interest for the audience.”
The Saturday session will begin at 10:00am and Sunday at 11:30am.
Tickets are $25 per day including two valuations and meals (or $40 for both days).

“When purchasing your tickets, please specify which day you wish to come. There will be no ticket sales at the door as numbers are limited,” Stephanie said.
“This year we will also feature a giant Trash and Treasure sale in the Kumbia Hall grounds, starting at 8:00am, so come along and snap up a bargain and maybe get Ray to value it for you!
“If you have large items or wish to have a number of pieces valued, Ray will come to your home by appointment.”
