Kilkivan and its residents have been immortalised in song by country music singer Josh Arnold.
The music video from Josh’s “Small Town Culture” project was released this week.
The town was selected for the honour after an online competition in which voters had to choose between 10 towns.
Kilkivan won by just 22 votes over Clermont.
Josh launched the Small Town Culture program in 2007 and since then has been collaborating with school students to create original music from their ideas.
In 2013, Yarraman State School students made a video with the help of Josh to promote their town.
The new Kilkivan song will also be distributed to 400 radio stations across Australia.
