After two weeks of dance, poetry and music, the annual Kingaroy Eisteddfod drew to a close on Saturday night with a huge gala concert at Kingaroy Town Hall.

The hall was packed for performances by some of the South Burnett’s best up-and-coming talent.

There was dancing – from ballet to contemporary – choral performances (including a stunning performance of ‘O Fortuna’), band music, and speech and drama.

This is the 83rd year the Kingaroy Eisteddfod has been held.

The competition draws competitors from all over south-east Queensland and couldn’t take place without the help of a small band of dedicated volunteers who turn chaos into order every year.

Kingaroy State High School students Tyson Tunstall (Year 11) and Melanie Hanwright (Year 12) were part of the finale performance at the Eisteddfod concert – a contemporary dance routine to “Photograph”
