Police are investigating the theft of a quantity of horse equipment from a float.

Between 5:30pm on Friday, May 1, and 7:30am on Saturday, May 2, unknown offenders have targeted the contents of a horse float parked at the Dalby Showgrounds overnight.

The vehicle was parked in the undercover area at the south-west corner of the indoor arena and the gates into the showgrounds were locked at the time.

Dalby received more than 80mm of rain in the preceding 24 hours causing grassed areas across the showground to flood.

The offender(s) would have had difficulty accessing the area except by road.

They have stolen a brown Ron Hannah stock saddle, a brown Suzi Maxwell cutting saddle, two felt saddle blankets (one grey, one black), a cream and blue check saddle blanket, a brown Shane Nash bridle, a black bridle with lace trim and brown reins, a second black bridle with brown reins, a horse first aid kit, a human first aid kit, a tub of minerals and herbs for horses, three girths, eight halters and lead ropes of various sizes, three tubs of stationery, books, CDs, teaching resources, two white riding helmets and a blue six foot lined horse rug.

Many of the items were marked with the owner’s name.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800-333-000.
