Graham House Community Centre, Murgon Lions and Murgon Rotary have thrown their weight behind a fundraising effort to help a local family.

Willow Williams is just 12 months old but has already had two operations since January and has another four scheduled throughout the year.

Her parents, Tim and Tyanah Williams, also have two other children, Kirra and Indie.

The appeal is seeking donations for the Williams family to help ease some of the financial burden they are under as they struggle with the financial and emotional cost of caring for their ill child.

Willow has spent more than half her life in hospital.

She suffers from multiple medical problems and is currently fed via a tube into her stomach.

Willow has to attend regularly fortnightly visits at the children’s hospital in Brisbane, for check-ups and operations.

As part of the appeal, Murgon Lions is taking on Murgon Rotary at a Charity Bowls Day on Sunday (April 12).

Individuals or teams are welcome to nominate. Cost is $20 per person, which includes a barbecue dinner.

Coaches will be available for novice players … so here’s your chance to try your hand at lawn bowls!

To book a team, phone Fran Purcell on 0407-765-245.

Prizes will be awarded for:

  • Best Cheat
  • Worst Bowl
  • Worst Bowler
