The countdown is on for the Burrandowan Picnic Races. with volunteers and the local community getting ready for their biggest day of the year.
The race day, on May 9, will start with a blast at 9:00am with the traditional clay target Shoot; food stalls and the bar will open at 11:00am and Race 1 will jump at 1:00pm.
There is also the all-new High Tea and luncheon hampers. Email burrandowanraces@gmail.com to book a High Tea ($20) or Luncheon Hamper ($35 for two people).
Club secretary Carolyn Stone said the committee was once again looking forward to hosting young and old on race day and raising funds for charity.
“It’s always a wonderful day for people to gather – renewing old friendships and making new ones – and we love seeing the effort everyone goes to for our day,” Carolyn said.
“We are delighted to be supporting CareFlight once more – every dollar counts when it comes ot rescuing lives and transporting patients.”
Carolyn said there would be shuttle buses travelling from Kingaroy to the race track, or racegoers can also bring their swags and sleep at the track for free.
In the evening, the pit-fired barbecue will be going and music will be provided by Kerry Kennedy and Double Barrel.
