If you’re heading to Wondai this weekend to check out the huge Autumn Garden Expo at the sportsground, there’s two other related events that are also well worth a look.
The South Burnett Orchid Society will be holding its annual Orchid Show on Saturday (April 18) in the Diggers Room at the Wondai RSL Club.
This show always features a large range of rare, colourful – and sometimes wacky – orchids shown by collectors from all over south-east Queensland.
It will run from 9:30am to 3:00pm. Cost to enter is $3.00.
There will also be plants available for sale as well as raffles.
Wine from Moffatdale Ridge cellardoor will be available for tasting.
The third garden-related event is the Wondai Art Gallery’s April exhibition, which features entries in the now-traditional Wondai Garden Expo Art Competition.
The paintings are on display in the Wondai Town Hall – just next door to the RSL Club – and feature many carefully crafted works by local artists.
The exhibition is open from 10:00am-4:00pm daily at the Town Hall because the gallery’s regular home at the roundabout is closed for repairs.
Entry is free.
