Radio US Mob trainee Shane Dynevor made a big sacrifice this week … his lost his much-loved dreadlocks to raise funds for cancer.
Shane looked decidedly nervous before the big event, which was broadcast live and also attracted a large crowd of onlookers outside the Us Mob studios in Cherbourg on Tuesday.
He just couldn’t stop twirling his dreads, knowing all too well that they were about to disappear.
Tyrone Murray, from oriGINAl hair by GINA, showed no mercy and quickly whipped off the flowing locks.
Shane has been raising money since last year and more was made on the morning from a sausage sizzle.
The Murgon State High School student is doing a Certificate III in Broadcasting as a school-based traineeship at Us Mob.
He decided to do the shave in memory of family members – an aunty and a cousin – who had cancer.
And how did it feel after the shave? Shane had one word: “Breezy!”
