The 2015 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) for enduro motorbikes will roar into action at Kilkivan this weekend.
This is the first time Kilkivan has hosted rounds of the prestigious AORC championship.
Kilkivan Clerk of the Course Frank Kraan told Motorcycling Australia the three tracks originally set up for the event had to be changed because of the heavy rainfall from Cyclone Marcia last month.
However, he was confident the modified tracks would deliver exciting racing.
“I hope the riders have been training hard in preparation, because the tracks have been designed to test them,” he said.
Some of the names to watch this weekend are:
- Toby Price – The defending AORC champion and four-times winner. This NSW rider just finished third in the world’s top rally, the gruelling Dakar Rally and also won Stage 12 outright.
- Glenn Kearney – Another NSW rider. The dual Australian Four Day Enduro winner has fully recovered from surgery last September.
- Josh Green – the 2015 Australian Enduro-X Nationals runner-up.
After the Kilkivan round, the riders will head to Victoria for Rounds 3 and 4.
