It’s a sign of the times: three teenage ladies were among the 28 competitors who took part in the Burnett District Ladies Pairs Championships held at the Kingaroy Bowls Club this week.
In fact, 14-year-old Britney Wiley skipped the pair who took out the title.
With partner Pat Darlington, they were undefeated in the five rounds of the three-day tournament.
Fourteen teams from throughout the Burnett participated, and the four teams with the most amount of wins and the highest scores progressed to the semi-finals.
At the end of day one, there was only one team with three wins so the other three semi-finalists were determined by their overall scores
The District Ladies Pairs competition provided some thrilling games for the spectators.
