Painting will begin soon at Nanango Hospital as a part of a program of backlogged maintenance work in the local health district – and local painters have been invited to tender for the job.
Scheduled to start in April, the painting program will include a full internal paint of the administration building, painting of a section of the main hospital building and patch painting of the nurses’ quarters.
Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service (DDHHS) Project Officer for Capital Works Matt Smith said the works would provide the hospital with a new lease on life.
“These painting works are part of the Backlog Maintenance Remediation Program which will include thousands of maintenance
projects throughout the DDHHS,” he said.
“We will be calling for tenders in the first week of March and we anticipate a start date in early April. With all things going to plan we would expect completion by mid-June.”
Contractors interested in finding out more are encouraged to contact Mr Smith during business hours on 0408-221-157.
The DDHHS Backlog Maintenance Remediation Program is a $50.6 million program of works, started in 2013 and continuing until 2016.
Maintenance and remediation are being undertaken across all 20 hospitals and six residential aged care facilities under the control of the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Board.
