Shadow Minister Deb Frecklington became a shadow chef when she hosted a barbecue party at Blackbutt on Sunday.
Her guests were booth workers and other helpers who worked on the many tasks of election preparations and booths on election day.
The chefs were husband Jason Frecklington and Geoff Maudsley.
There was a big contingent of workers from most areas of the huge electorate which stretches from Kilcoy to Kingaroy and the Crows Nest area, embracing the Acland mine which has attracted much media attention of late.
Mrs Frecklington thanked all the workers and mentioned that many of them spent all day on booths, setting them up, staffing them and then participating in the exacting task of scrutineering.
She said she was pleased to remind everyone that the Nanango electorate registered the biggest swing to a government member when most suffered a loss of percentages.
She also pointed out the media were prone to refer to the result as a hiding but the LNP in fact won more than 100,000 votes over Labor members.
Mrs Frecklington was appointed last Thursday as the Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and she said she was looking forward enthusiastically to this task which would see he travel over most of the State.
