The Burnett region was shaken by a series of minor earth tremors this morning.

The first tremor, a magnitude 5.1 quake, occurred at 1:57am north of Kerwee Road at Mungy, between Eidsvold and Mt Perry.

It was followed by tremors at 2:40am (3.2 magnitude), 3:37am (3.4 magnitude) and 4:06am (2.5 magnitude), all in the vicinity of the first quake.

The first tremor was felt as far away as Brisbane and Rockhampton, and rattled windows throughout the South Burnett.

No damage has been reported although the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services sent its Rapid Damage Assessment Team to the epicentre region as a precaution.
