Rumours that recent water damage at the TAFE South West campus in Kingaroy would be left unrepaired have been refuted by Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington.
Just over a week ago a hot water system at the college failed and emptied 6000 litres of water into the recently opened Learning Centre area at the college.
Since then, southburnett.com.au was told, nothing had been done.
There have been rumours that there was a dispute between TAFE, who are leasing the building, and the owners of the building, the State Government, over the repairs.
However, Mrs Frecklington said today the Queensland Training Assets Management Authority (QTAMA), which manages and operates vocational education and training infrastructure in Queensland, was working with TAFE South West to assess the damage.
Mrs Frecklington said there was agreement that repair work could not start until the room dried out.
“It will be repaired like all government buildings,” she said.
