At 6:00pm on Wednesday, the Electoral Commission of Queensland still had not declared all results in the January 31 State Election – including both the seats of Callide and Nanango.
Both will be easy LNP victories but technically counting is still under way.
The ECQ has declared the result in 56 seats: 32 (ALP), 22 (LNP), 1 (KAP) and 1 (Independent).
The controversial seat of Ferny Grove has been declared a win to the ALP’s Mark Furner, however it is still expected that this result will be referred to the Court of Disputed Returns as the PUP candidate, Mark Taverner, was ineligible to stand for election.
Mr Taverner received 993 first preference votes.
Queensland Governor Paul de Jersey tweeted on Tuesday that he would commission a new Premier following the polls declaration.
2/2 I will commission new Premier following #qldvotes polls declaration. PdeJ
