Kingaroy police are investigating the theft of two bottles of rum from the Carrollee Hotel bottle shop on Australia Day.

Acting Senior Sergeant Brent Gerber said the rum was stolen between 12:45pm and 1:15pm.

Police were hoping to identify the offenders from CCTV footage.

A smouldering fire on a power pole on the Bunya Highway near the TAFE College about 9:00pm on Friday night caused a blackout in the Kumbia area.

Police, a fire crew and Ergon Energy attended the scene.

At 10:00pm on Friday, police pulled over a driver in Youngman Street, Kingaroy.

Acting Senior Sergeant Gerber said police would allege the 38-year-old woman driver was driving unlicensed, and was a repeat offender.

Her vehicle was impounded for 90 days and she was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in court.

A 27-year-old has been charged with drunk driving after Kingaroy police pulled him over between midnight and 1:00am on Friday night. Police will allege he recorded a BAC of 0.058.

A 49-year-old man has been charged with refusing to provide a specimen of breath or blood for testing after police were called to a disturbance in Cairns Street, Nanango, at midnight on January 27.

He will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court.
