Kingaroy Police are urging motorists to be vigilant around school zones as children head back to school after the Christmas break.
Children can be unpredictable, especially if they’re excited about returning to school to see their friends.
Motorists should also show extra caution around school bus areas, as children may unexpectedly emerge from between or in front of buses.
In the South Burnett Regional Council area, the school zone times are 8:00am–9:30am and 2:30pm–4:00pm.
As school zone times in other Council areas may differ from these times, always pay close attention to the times indicated when coming into school zones.
Police will be patrolling school zones to ensure motorists obey the speed limit.

- Toowoomba Regional Council – 7:00am–9:00am and 2:00pm–4:00pm (Yarraman & Cooyar)
