Goomeri children were treated to a free movie last night, compliments of the Gympie Regional Council who have purchased a Big Screen which can be moved to different locations.
Dickinsons Park was the venue used last night and it was a perfect night to be sitting under the stars watching the Lego Movie.
About 120 people attended the evening which was organised at short notice.
The Lions Club chip van sold hot chips and soft drinks to the mostly young audience. It was lovely to see all the families sitting together in the cool of the evening.
The chip van’s next outing will be to the Boondooma Dam Fishing Competition, which promises to be a successful event after the recent rain. The Proston, Murgon and Goomeri shows will then follow.
Our first social night for the year will be held and Merv and Pam Brunjes’ home, and following tradition, it will be a baked ham and salad meal.
