Help is available for South Burnett landholders plagued with wild dog and feral pig problems.
The State Government has provided a grant to the South Burnett Regional Council for a Wild Dog and Feral Pig Trapping Project to be run in conjunction with the Burnett Mary Regional Group, Kingaroy Landcare, the South Burnett Grazing Network and the South Burnett Pest Advisory committee.
A professional trapper will be employed to target areas of high wild dog and pig populations.
These areas will be determined by feedback from landholders.
Landholders will have to give permission to the trapper to access their properties and surrender scalps taken as part of the project.
The program will start on April 27.
To apply for assistance, phone Council on (07) 4189-9122 before April 13.
