The Darling Downs South-West Queensland Medicare Local is urging local parents to ignore “debunked information” on the internet and get their children vaccinated.
In their latest newsletter, DDSWQ Medicare Local said parents may have questions about the safety and need for vaccination so it was important that they get the facts.
“We urge parents to always check your source of information when making a decision about immunisation and make sure your decisions are based on scientific fact rather than misinformation and debunked theories,” the newsletter said.
“Beware of misguided and misleading information about immunisation on the internet.
“Your best source of information about immunisation is your doctor or your vaccine service provider.”
DDSWQ Medicare Local was established by the Federal Government to co-ordinate primary health care delivery, tackle local health needs and fill identified service delivery gaps in the local region.
