Nanango counsellor Dean Love is the sixth candidate to throw his hat into the ring to contest the seat of Nanango at the January 31 State election.
Mr Love announced on his Facebook page on Friday evening that he had nominated as an Independent candidate:
“Well it’s official. I have nominated to run as an independent candidate for the upcoming Queensland election,” Mr Love wrote.
“I have no funding, no team of lawyers and no PR machine. It’s just me and my phone.
“But I am just so sick to death of the current state of politics I thought I should give people another option.
“I will stand for government accountability, evidence-based policy, reduced wages for politicians and an independent review of the State’s Budget.
“I want an open and transparent government. I believe that a politician must be a servant of the people. Not a rogue wanna-be CEO sociopath.
“Politicians need to act according to the wishes of their electorate. That’s why I think running as an Independent is the only ethical choice I can make.
“I will not be dictated to by back-room party manipulators or corporations seeking to exploit the flaws in our democracy.
“So vote for me cause I’m just like you. A little working mouse standing up against the wolves.”
