The South Burnett Regional Council and Aquatec Maxcon are inviting interested local businesses to attend an industry briefing about upgrades to the Kingaroy Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Gordonbrook Water Treatment Plant.

Aquatec Maxcon, based in Ipswich, recently won Council tenders to carry out both contracts.

Kingaroy’s new Waste Water Treatment Plant is expected to cost $20 million and will be completed by September, 2016.

The Gordonbrook Water Treatment Plant upgrade is expected to cost $7.5 million and be completed in the latter part of 2015.

“Council would like to encourage local businesses to attend and put in an expression of interest for any work opportunities that will arise during the construction and installation phases of the upgrades,” Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said

The briefing session will be held from 6:00pm on Wednesday, December 17, at the Kingaroy Town Common Hall in Oliver Bond Street.
