Football South Burnett’s 2014 Female Coach of the Year, Lauren Mangan, has won the same category in the South-West Queensland football awards.

Lauren is the coach of the senior Nanango team which she has taken to three consecutive premiership wins (2012, 2013 and 2014) in the South Burnett competition.

She also prepared the Panthers for the FFA Cup competition this season, making it through to Round 3 which was played in Kingaroy before a big crowd.

Lauren will now compete at the State football awards.

Football South Burnett  held its annual general meeting and volunteer awards night night recently in Kingaroy.

The Volunteer Awards winners for 2014 are:

  • Volunteer of the Year – Sarah Vanderkolk
  • Referee of the Year – Alex Firman
  • Female Coach of the Year – Junior Team – Jacquie Downie
  • Male Coach of the Year – Junior Team – Alex Firman
  • Team of the Year – Barambah United Bears TBSQB Cadets
  • Male Coach of the Year – Senior Team – Daniel Jensen
  • Female Coach of the Year – Senior Team – Lauren Mangan

The Executive positions for 2015 are:

  • President – Lauren Mangan
  • Vice President – Kieran Askin
  • Treasurer – Danielle Maudsley
  • Secretary – Tracey Tunstall

The Standing Committee chairpersons ratified at the meeting are:

  • Juniors – Sarah Vanderkolk
  • Seniors – Mick North
  • Referees – Brendan Young

The meeting thanked Cameron Sterling and Anthony Kelly for their many years of service within Football South Burnett in the many roles they have held.
