Purser’s Coaches officially took over the Murgon-Caboolture-Murgon bus run this morning, with the first coach pulling out of Murgon at 7:00am.
South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann and Deputy Mayor Keith Campbell greeted passengers as the bus stopped off in Kingaroy.
“Over 20 passengers are travelling to Caboolture today and Council would like to thank Purser’s for stepping up to continue this valuable service to the South Burnett community,” Mayor Kratzmann said.
“If the community wants the service to remain, they need to demonstrate support by using the service.
“What better time to book a ticket than the December holidays to connect with loved ones over Christmas?”
The Mayor and Purser’s Coaches plan to meet with Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington and Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney soon to discuss support for the service.
Council says the bus route requires “strong on-going patronage” to ensure that it will continue.
