Information on how to take part in the 2015 South Burnett Community Leadership Program was presented at an information evening held in Kingaroy on Monday night.
Participants from this year’s event explained to a roomful of potential participants and sponsors the benefits they had gained from taking part.
The South Burnett Community Leadership Program is a four-day live-in program at the Bunya Mountains presented over two modules.
Next year it will be held on February 15-17 and March 15-17. Participants arrive on the Sunday night and then take part in two full days of activities.
The program is organised by the not-for-profit Red Earth Community Foundation and presented by Pam McAllister, an experienced facilitator from the former Building Rural Leaders Program.
“The Community Leadership Program is all about the future and building the capacity of our region,” Red Earth president Georgie Somerset said.
The program aims to build resilience in the South Burnett by developing the confidence and capabilities of individuals.
Fifteen participants aged from 19 to 60 took part in the 2014 program.
Cost is $2200 (including GST) but a limited number of scholarships may be available for candidates who do not have access to a sponsoring organisation.
More information is available on the program’s website
