It’s a sure thing that the 2014 Year 12 students from St Mary’s Catholic College will never forget their formal … it was the night the rain came back.
A storm broke just as the students started arriving at the Kingaroy RSL Club for their night of nights.
Between 50-55mm fell – the most rain the town has had since April – and it all fell within an hour or so.
The deluge scattered the waiting crowd and photographers, and gave 2015 school captain Rory Browne a stormy start to his official duties as he was tasked with holding the umbrella to escort the students down the red carpet.
The rain may have dampened clothes, but everyone was smiling. It was raining!
