All pretty in pink …  Naomi Baldwin with Taylor Greeff, Elizabeth Baldwin and Allison Baldwin
Have you ever seen a goanna in a pink tutu? At least it was Sunsmart and also wore a hat

The South Burnett Child Care Centre went pink recently to celebrate success.

The centre, located in Kingaroy, received a rating of “exceeding overall” by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

All child care centres and kindergartens in Australia are rated under this system.

South Burnett Child Care invited its parents and grandparents to join them in celebration and also used the day to raise funds for cancer research. The children had pink play-dough, pink craft, pink paint and face-painting and lots of pink food.

Children, staff and even the centre’s iconic wooden Goanna mascot wore pink for the day.

Staff were invited to purchase new hot pink shirts and donate the cost of the shirt to the cause, and families using the centre were also invited to make a donation. A total of nearly $700 was raised.
