Businesses in River Road, Kingaroy, were targeted by would-be thieves on different nights last week.

Acting Senior Sergeant Brad Johannesen, from Kingaroy Police, said that on Tuesday night intruders cut through a fence to gain access to Norco’s premises.

The thieves stole rolls of fencing wire.

Then on Thursday night, intruders cut through a fence to enter a scrap metal yard just down the road.

Snr Sgt Johannesen said several vehicles were interfered with and their fuel caps removed.

Police suspect the would-be thieves may have tampered with the contents of the vehicles’ tanks.

A man and woman were taken to Kingaroy Hospital for observation after a single vehicle accident on Cairns Road at Goodger on Friday night.

The 23-year-old male driver, from Kallangur, suffered minor lacerations while his passenger, a 19-year-old woman, suffered bruises in the incident which occurred just before 10:00pm.

The driver told police his Ford Falcon overturned after he swerved to avoid a kangaroo and lost control.

An 18-year-old man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 6 after police searched a house in Knight Street last Wednesday.

Police will allege they located a small amount of cannabis.

In an unrelated incident, a 21-year-old man will appear in court on the same day after police allegedly found he was carrying a knife when they stopped him Haly Street, Kingaroy.

Police were called to single vehicle accident on the Proston-Boondooma Road near the Stuart River Bridge at Proston this morning.  No one is believed to have been injured but no further information is available at this stage.
