About 60 people gathered at Kingaroy Town Hall on Friday night to have a ball …

Kingaroy-based not-for-profit group South Burnett Peace Of Mind organised the special social dinner dance for local residents who have been attending their weekly drop-in centre.

South Burnett Peace Of Mind Association was founded by local resident Rhonda Trivett in 2012.

It operates a weekly drop-in centre at St John’s Lutheran Hall.

South Burnett Deputy Mayor Keith Campbell officially opened the White Dove Ball, which was assisted by a grant from the Mayor’s Charity Trust.

“It’s lovely to see such a happy crowd of people at the Kingaroy Town Hall to celebrate with Rhonda and her group of supporters,” Cr Campbell said.

He said Rhonda was a “very determined” and the ball was a great example of the effort she puts into trying to help.

Local band Whole Hearted – Brett and Angelina Chaseling – supplied the live music and quickly had the crowd up and dancing.
