Organisers of this weekend’s Relay For Life are hoping they’ll again be able to crack the $100,000 mark when all the fundraising for the 2014 event wraps up.

Co-ordinator Rowena Dionysius said there were 43 teams entered – more than last year – and $47,000 had already been banked with more on the way from the various events and fundraisers that have already been held around the area.

The Relay, which is the major fundraiser locally for the Cancer Council of Queensland, will get underway at 3:00pm on Saturday at the speedway track at the Kingaroy Showground and will finish at 9:00am on Sunday.

As usual, there’ll be all-night entertainment to keep the walkers motivated as they do their laps.

The special Candlelight Ceremony, in remembrance of friends and relatives lost to cancer, will be held about 6:30pm on Saturday.
