South Burnett community groups will share in almost $342,000 in grants through the latest round of the State Government’s Gambling and Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Funds.
Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said it was great to see local groups benefitting from the grants.
“These groups bring so much to our community, and I’m glad that we can provide them with funding which allows them to continue their invaluable work in the area,” Mrs Frecklington said.
She said the quarterly grants allowed profits from gambling to be invested back into grass roots services and facilities that benefited people from all walks of life in the South Burnett.
“These grants can be the difference between keeping these important services in our area and going without,” she said.
“I encourage all local groups, however big or small, to apply for the next round of funding before the end of November 2014.
“Make the most of this wonderful opportunity.”
