The South Burnett and Cherbourg On Show long weekend promotion is being helped thanks to the generosity of local businesses.
“The event is promoted on a very limited budget so every extra bit of sponsorship helps us to bring more business to the region,” Transforming Small Business marketing manager Trudi Bartlett said.
South Burnett and Cherbourg on Show showcases all the assets of the region over the October Labour Day Long Weekend.
There are more than 60 events scheduled, embracing the region’s Indigenous cultures, arts, music, heritage, foods, wines, sport, adventure, natural attractions and country lifestyle.
“The whole point to the October Long weekend event is to give our local businesses a boost,” Ms Bartlett said.
“The event is to encourage locals to discover what there is in their region and invite tourists to holiday in the region.”
Ashley Hood, owner of Hood’s Professional Treelopping, said he was proud to support this local event.
“I’ve lived in the South Burnett for almost all my life and think the October long weekend is a great opportunity to show people what we have to offer,” he said.
“My family and I will be looking over the program and working out what events we want to attend. There are so many great things happening, it’s going to be fun trying to get to them all.”
Hood’s Professional Treelopping started in the South Burnett in 1999. The business employs three locals, qualified in tree removal, stump grinding, block clearing, bob-cat hire, dangerous tree hazard assessment and wood chipping services.
Businesses interested in becoming a sponsor for next year’s event are invited to phone Trudi on 0488-112-298.
