Scott Prendergast ... looking forward to Commonwealth Carnival

September 9, 2014

It’s going to be a huge weekend for the Kingaroy Clay Target Club with trap shooters coming from all over Australia for the 2014 Australian Clay Target Association Commonwealth Clay Target Carnival.

The three-day carnival will get underway this Friday at 8:30am.

More than 120 nominations have already been received from across the country, with organisers expecting even more before the end of the week.

Scott Prendergast said some of Australia’s best trap shooters would be taking part.

This is the first year the event has been held in Queensland.

Scott said in previous years Perth and Darwin had hosted the Commonwealth carnival so Kingaroy was greatly honoured to be given the privilege this year.

“The club is very grateful for the support of the event by the many numerous businesses and agencies that are supporting the event,” Scott said.

Spectators are welcome on all days and the club’s canteen will be operating.

On Friday evening, there’ll be a barbecue and fireworks display from about 6:30pm as part of the opening night celebrations.
