People in drought-declared areas have been encouraged to apply for TAFE Queensland South West’s “Helping Hand” project which offers free Certificate III training in five specified courses.
A TAFE spokesman said the goal of the program was to increase an individual’s employment opportunities.
Eligible participants can choose from:
- Certificate III in Aged Care
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Certificate III in Community Service Work
- Certificate III in Disability
- Certificate III in Education Support.
The spokesman said participants would also receive further support such as internet access and financial assistance for related training materials, if required.
There are only 100 fully-funded training positions available.
