Yarraman’s Progress Association Chairman Joe Stimpson was all smiles when he delivered his annual report at the association’s Annual General Meeting on Tuesday night.
He was enthusiastic in endorsing the financial statement which showed an increase on the previous year and congratulated his team’s efforts in raising funds to dramatically increase the fixed asset register.
“The Christmas Carnival was a success with the event getting bigger every year,” he told the gathering.
“Our mid-winter Christmas Carnival Dance was a first and everyone is asking when we will hold the next one.”
Mr Stimpson briefly outlined functions held on Australia Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day and said the association would be revisiting these events in the years to come.
He thanked the Toowoomba Regional Council and the Yarraman Community Bank for grants and sponsorship to fund these events.
The President welcomed new members to the team this year.
“Progress now has a bigger role in what happens in the town and surrounding district. We are now the liaison committee to the Toowoomba Regional Council and other government bodies. This will benefit the town,” Mr Stimpson said.
