Cherbourg’s Yurri Muntha Cafe will be adding an indigenous cooking touch to the South Burnett and Cherbourg On Show long weekend.

On Saturday, October 4, the Cafe will be serving a special lunch menu featuring succulent ribs and homemade lavender cheese cake from 12 noon to 2:00pm.

Seats for this special lunch are $22 per head.

But if you’d prefer something else on the Cafe’s menu or would just like to drop in for morning tea, no problem!

The Cafe will be open between 10:00am and 2:00pm that day for anyone who’d like to drop by.

The Yurri Muntha Cafe opened near Cherbourg’s Ration Shed Museum in 2013 and now provides the community with full cafe and catering services.

The Cafe is owned by Cherbourg Shire Council, run by full-time manager and professional caterer Sheree Strauss and staffed by indigenous trainees.

In addition to light meals, lunches and refreshments, it also stocks a range of authentic bush sauces, jams and condiments. And original indigenous artworks by Cherbourg artists adorn its walls.

On Saturday, October 4 the Cafe will be running in tandem with the Ration Shed’s Museum Open Day (which will also run from 10:00am to 2:00pm) so that visitors can enjoy morning tea at the Cafe, take a tour of the Ration Shed Museum, and then return to Yurri Muntha for lunch if they like.

You can reserve a seat at the Cafe or book tickets to the lunch by phoning them on (07) 4168-2400.
