The bushland around Cherbourg will be “on show” over the South Burnett & Cherbourg On Show long weekend when the local trail riders club invites visitors to join them for a 30km ride.
The Cherbourg Trail Horse Riders Club was formed two years ago and involves children, adults and families who band together for three rides around the South Burnett a month, with the occasional trip away.
“We have a lot of fun and a lot of laughs,” secretary Dina Haines said.
The club will be hosting the Cherbourg Trail Ride on the Saturday of the Labour Day long weekend, October 4.
This is a new event for the South Burnett & Cherbourg On Show weekend.
Dina said the cost to take part would be just a gold coin donation.
She has invited everyone who loves to ride – and members of all horse and pony clubs – to come along.
Riders who wish to join the adventure are asked to be saddled and ready to move out from The Ration Shed Museum in Cherbourg at 10:00am.
The ride will then work its way to “Paddock 7” by about 4:00pm.
South Burnett PCYC, South Burnett CTC and the Cherbourg Trail Horse Riders Club will then host a kup murri at the end of the ride.
Riders can then either return to The Ration Shed or camp overnight and return in the morning.
People wanting more information can contact Dina on 0427-737-491 or by email or phone club president Warren Cobbo on 0427-048-244.
