Nanango musician Bobby Ricks has thrown his weight behind a push to revive Ipswich’s country music scene.

Bobby Ricks and Rosewood musician Terry Waters will be hosting a show and a jam session at the Country Comfort Motel at Raceview next Sunday (September 21) from 11:00am. Entry will be by gold coin donation.

The session has been organised by new country music booking agency Music Inc, an organisation which is helping to promote a string of South Burnett musicians, including Amanda Sempf, Natalie Fenton and the Sempf Family.

Music Inc has invited country music bands, singers, musicians – and anyone else interested in supporting and contributing to helping the concept grow – to come along and join in the jam session.

“Country is your music, so don’t sit on the fence, get involved, be a part of this exciting program,” Bobby said.

“A new stable of stars is on the horizon and you could be one of them.

“The jam sessions will help to hone performances, introduce some to new ways and ideas, and be a source to meet song writers, and light and sound techs etc.”
