It’s Saturday morning so it’s time to check around the bowls clubs again and see what’s been happening.

It’s been a bit quiet in a lot of places, with clubs tidying up their championship matches and getting reading for Spring Carnivals.

And there’s a long weekend coming up … that normally generates a bit of visiting.

We have some really great news for those who like to watch a bit of bowling – you don’t have to bundle off down to the club – you can set back in the lounge chair and watch Australia’s champions in action on TV.

From November 18-21, the expanded Australian Premier League will be staged at Club Pine Rivers and two new teams have been signed to compete.

The Gold Coast Hawks, based out of Helensvale, and the Murray Steamers, owned by the Moama Bowling Club, will take to the greens.

The action is all on Fox Sports Nationwide.

What’s On The Blackboards:

According to my notice, it’s social bowls today at Yarraman with Jackpot Pairs tomorrow.

It’s ladies bowls on Wednesday and Yarraman have their Pub Day on Thursday – Nominated Fours – two games of 12 ends scoring 6 points for a win and two points for an end. A team can only win one prize so it spreads the awards.

The awards are:

  • First Round winners
  • Second Round winners
  • Overall winners

It should be a great day!
