Parts of the Kingaroy CBD area are without water – and emergency water restrictions have been imposed in the Kingaroy town area – after a water main ruptured in Haly Street overnight.

A Council spokesman said the temporary emergency water restrictions were being imposed under the Water Supply (Safety Reliability) Act 2008.

“Council requests that water use be restricted to internal use and essential external use only. Watering of gardens and lawns is not permitted,” the spokesman said.

“Council is endeavouring to repair the breach as a matter of urgency.

“Please direct any inquiries to Council’s Water and Wastewater Department by phoning (07) 4189-9100.”
