The South Burnett Suicide Prevention Working Group’s annual celebration of RU OK? Day this year attracted support from more than 50 businesses throughout the region.

RU OK? is a national campaign which aims to encourage people to connect with colleagues, friends and loved ones by reaching out to anyone doing it tough and asking “RU OK?”

In the South Burnett, it is co-ordinated by the local Suicide Prevention Working Group who distributed packs to 51 participating cafes, bakeries and other businesses.

The packs included posters, balloons, RUOK coffee cups and other items designed to “start a conversation”.

A free community barbecue was also held from 7:00am-8:30am in front of Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington’s electorate office in Kingaroy.

CROW-FM broadcast live from the breakfast.
