Courtney Bligh loves being a checkout chick at Supa IGA in Murgon.

The 22-year-old graduated from Murgon State High School in 2009 and knew she wanted a busy job that had little stress.

She first worked for the BP Roadhouse before more hours and no nightshifts beckoned her to the grocery store.

Courtney now works from 8:00am to 4:00pm and enjoys the social interaction she has with customers.

“I’m quite cheeky if I know you,” she said.

The hours fly by as “you’re always doing something” and Courtney feels good at the end of the day when she settles into the home she bought 18 months ago.

“It’s nice to own something,” she said.

“I can paint the walls or do whatever I want with it.”

Courtney is also glad she finished school.

“I’m still friends with people I’ve known since Year 8 and it helped with my reading, writing and maths,” she said.

“I can now do the work I want to do.”
