Congratulations were extended to our member Mollie Kratzmann on her election as Division President of the Gympie & South Burnett Division of QCWA at the recent Annual Meeting.
At this meeting a “For Service” Bar was presented to Kumbia’s past member, Robyn Shea.
Members had entries in floral art, knitting and crochet with Lil Haug gaining first place with her dining table, dried miniature and five artificial flower arrangements; and Helen Freeman gaining first place with both a knitted and a crocheted rug and a second with a knitted baby’s outfit.
There will be a few busy days ahead as we tidy the inside of our rooms in preparation for the entire building to be painted. We are grateful to Jupiter’s Community Benefit Fund for the grant to do this.
We supported the Kumbia community events last weekend by holding a stall at the country market.
We are currently running a raffle for $200 worth of fuel vouchers and would welcome any volunteers willing to help us sell tickets at Kingaroy Shoppingworld. If you see us there on a Thursday, please support us as we cannot approach you to buy.
Visitors are always welcome at our meetings held at 10:00am on the first Tuesday of each month in our Bell Street, Kumbia, rooms.
We will have a celebration of Vietnam on November 12, starting at 9:00am, so please keep this date free for a fun day of craft, food and interesting guest speaker.
If you want information on any of these, please contact me on (07) 4164-5578 or by email
