Hairdresser and Murgon Mustangs stalwart Alicia Pidgeon tackles Mark McDonald’s locks
Will we leave a mohawk? No … it’s all going!

August 8, 2014

Last weekend’s “shave for a cure” by Murgon Mustangs coach Mark McDonald raised an amazing $1576.95 for the Cancer Council.

Mark had been growing his beard and hair since February when his sister-in-law was diagnosed with cancer.

During that six months, Mark rapidly turned into a cross between the Booie Monster and wolfman.

Alicia Pidgeon, from Alicia’s Spa and Hair Worx, made quick work of Mark’s beard and locks during a break in the rugby league at Murgon Sportsground.

Mark and his wife Jennifer collected money before the day by walking around Murgon streets.

More was raised at the grounds on Saturday – with several generous cash donations of more than $100 boosting the coffers.

As a mark of solidarity with the cancer awareness message, all four senior teams in action – Murgon, Kingaroy, Nanango and Wondai – wore pink socks.

If you didn’t get the opportunity to donate on the day, donations can also be made at the Commonwealth Bank in Murgon or by electronic transfer to: BSB 064-423 a/c 10156164
